VIEVE EATS | SUGAR CANE

Sugar cane is highly controversial on the interwebs with seriously polarized opinions so I had to check it out for myself.
I ordered the Hawaiian burger - I probably would have gone with the Chicken Avocado Burger if it was beef.

I went to Sugar Cane on a rainy Thursday afternoon when I had already started developing a hunger headache. We were attended to as soon as we got in, with the waiter asking us where we would like to seat.
After placing our orders, we were told it would take about 15 minutes for our food to be ready at which point I almost fainted - mild exaggeration but, I did tell the waitress they might be wheeling me out of the restaurant if my food didn't come on time Lol!
I was pleasantly surprised when the waitress placed a jar of sweet cinnamon popcorn before us as this made the wait bearable.

My burger in all its glory.
I found this burger difficult to eat, the pineapple slice was too big and smaller than the beef patty so, I had to remove it :\
I think the burger is a nice idea but the pineapple slice should be thinner. The burger sans the pineapple slice was just there, the beef patty wasn't dry and that's about all I can say because, without the pineapple it's very basic; actually, worse than basic as it doesn't have the usual trappings (tomatoes, onions, pickles) you would expect a burger to have which is understandable because these cannot be paired with pineapple - I see we have circled back to the pineapple...Lol

Overall
Ambience: Sugar Cane reminds me of the posh cafeteria on campus when I was in university. I'm sure it is just me though.
Service: Service was great! the staff were friendly and attentive - as soon as we finished the first jar of popcorn another was placed in front of us.
Pricing: I think my burger was slightly over priced for what it was.

I might give Sugar cane another try - order something completely different and see how it goes because, this visit left me underwhelmed.

Sugar Cane is located at 6a Ologun Agbaje Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Have you been to Sugar Cane? Did you "love" it?
xo,
Genevieve
