BEST WEDDING EVER?

Hey guys!
How was your weekend? Mine was a mix of extremes.... Saturday was super fun and Sunday was so meh! On Saturday was the grand finale in this wedding business I've been wrapped up in... I woke up bright and early and headed to Radisson Blu to meet the bride - Damola and get ready for the day.... Despite the disaster with my makeup on Thursday, I still decided to do my makeup myself... I think I'm a bit of a control freak sometimes but that's a story for another day.

I decided not to bake this time around... I just set my concealer... A lot less stressful as I didn't have to spend minutes dusting  excess powder off... Why did we even start 'baking' in the first place? Despite not baking I still had slight issues with my under eye area! No where near as bad as Thursday but I could tell... Now I'm starting to think it might be the setting powder... I went for a purple lip (Pansy from Lime Crime) some false lashes would have added oomph but, I no sabi. Lol

I was ready on time so I was able to take some pictures and goof around. The bridesmaids wore this off shoulder pink floor length gown with a sequined train... I loved the dress it was glam yet comfortable... Top marks in my book.

Damola is Muslim so, there was a nikkai ceremony and we had to cover up with a scarf. This was my first nikkai experience... Even though I was lost 99% of the time between the Arabic and Yoruba that was spoken, it was fun to witness.

The nikkai was short and sweet. Don't think the ceremony was longer than an hour. With that over, it was time for the reception aka time to turn up and eat!

How cute is this?

....If you follow me on snapchat you've probably seen snippets of what the reception was like. Believe me when I say it was turnt! I danced non stop even more than the bride lol so much that some of the other bridesmaids started calling me assistant bride but I didn't mind, I was happy for my girl plus the Dj was awesome!

The couple!!!!!

This is probably the BEST wedding I've ever been to... The girls on the bridal train were all sweethearts, there was food and drink in excess so much that I was turning down small chops!!! (Small chops is normally akin to gold in most weddings) the DJ had his head screwed on right and the atmosphere was just amazing... And I believe this is just a snippet of how beautiful this new chapter of their lives is going to be.
Happy happy married life my love!

What would you use as judgment before you crown a wedding the 'best' you have attended so far?

Xo,
Genevieve.

  2. I love the dress as well and your lippie is popping.
For me it has to be the music and the dancing. I hate weddings where no one dances. the liquor helps as well and desserts plus knowing the bride or groom is a plus as well.

  7. You looked great even without the lashes!Once food and drinks 'yakpa' and the ambience is lovely plus good music then the wedding is lit in my opinion.
